Virture of God’s blessings, Good children his gift.

Psalms, 127:2,3

 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it:

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORDand the fruit of the womb is his reward.

As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

to eat the bread of sorrows:

Gen. 3:17> And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

children are an heritage of the LORD:

Gen.33:5> And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.

the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Isa.12:1-3> And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

Jer.31:9>They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

Joel 2:17>Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

Matt.5:4> Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

2Cor.7:8-11>For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, whatindignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

Focus:  God is not aainst human effort, hard work honors God. (Prov.31:10-29). But workint to the exclusion of rest or to neglect of family may be a cover-up for an inability to trust God to provide for ou needs. We all need adequate rest and times of spiriual refreshment. On the other hand, this verse is not an excuse to be lazy (Prov.18:9). Be careful to maintain a balance: work while trusting God. and also ret while trusting him.  verses 3-5, Too often children are seen as liabilities rather than assets. But God calls children “a heritage from the LORD,” a reward. We can learn valuable lesson from their inquisitive minds and trusting spirits. Those who view children as a distration or nuisance instead see them as a opportunity to shape the future. We dare not treat children an inconvience when God values them so highly.
