But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,……
Isa. 59:17> For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
Rom.13:12> The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Eph.6:11>Put on the whole armour of God,that ye may be able to stand against, the wiles of the devil.
Rom.9:22> What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endureed with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
1Pet.2:8> And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: where unto also they were appointed.
By the gracious salvation in Christ, we are separated from the dark as His light shines through us. This separation changes our destination from eternal condemnation to everlasting joy and peace. This magnificent hope for all followers of Christ causes us to rejoice in the glorious splendour of His majesty.
